Artomatix, the company behind the EU-supported ArtEngine project, has come up with a solution using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and neural networks. It can take the artist’s scans and convert them into production-ready, photo-realistic materials. Everyday activities for an artist such as seam removal, expanding materials to much larger sizes, removing unwanted features or artefact compression (that currently make up 80-90 % of the time-consuming tasks) are now automated.
