Polish Common State IT Infrastructure Program – WIIP
⭐ Good Practice Description:
Wspólna Infrastruktura Informatyczna Państwa – the Polish Common State IT Infrastructure Program (WIIP) – aims to increase the security of data processed by public administration entities and optimise the costs of ICT systems. WIIP’s strategic goal is to optimise existing ICT resources and applications in public administration by providing modern and cost-effective solutions. It compromises multiple project and intiaitves such the Government Cloud and Cloud Service Provision System.
Success Factors:
Data Governance | WIIP used the same approach as that taken for the UK’s G-Cloud and adapted it to the Polish context so as to follow clear guidelines established by the Ministry of Digitalisation regarding both government users of services and tech suppliers participating in the programme on storing and processing data. Moreover, tech supplier that want their cloud services to be available to public administrations need to be certified. |
